Preparation Note
Sample Preparation
Partially fill a 1000-mL volumetric flask with reagent-grade water (near 20ºC).
Open ampule PE1308-20ML (be careful to avoid cuts on glass) and transfer 10.0 mL of concentrate to the volumetric flask.
Fill the volumetric flask to volume with reagent-grade water and mix well.
The sample is now ready for immediate analysis.
Sealed ampules were autoclaved to preserve the solutions inside. This preservation treatment is not effective after the ampule is opened. Therefore, the sample should be analyzed as soon as possible after sample preparation.
If the TOC analysis is to be delayed for more than 48 hours (at 4ºC), preserve a portion of the sample (pH<2) with phosphoric acid to obtain a maximum holding time of 28 days.
