Preparation Note
The PT sample size provided is 33 g of soil. Minimum recommended sample size is 5 grams. The soil has been chemically synthesized with 6 mL of methanol to minimize degradation of the sample. The PT sample has been sized to 100 mesh. This sample has been prepared with an apparent headspace. If you Analyze for a different range as dictated by your analysis method you must indicate that range on the report form.
Sample Preparation
Mix and sample at 4° C to minimize volatilization of the contents. Do not bring the sample to room temperature prior to sampling. The sample is a soil containing BTEX to be extracted and analyzed using the methods for which you are seeking accreditation.
On the report form, list the extraction technique and determinative method used for the analysis of the sample. Report on a wet weight basis.
